Unleash your inner Norse warrior by crafting a stunning miniature decorative shield! Using layers of High Density EVA 60 foam from Coscom Cosplay Supplies, MTP Thermoplastic and texturing techniques, students will create an 11" EVA Foam shield that can be painted at home. Please note that the props will be unpainted during this course. The image shown on the listing is an example of how a little bit of paint can transform a prop to another level of awesome!
Workshop Details

Duration: 90 minutes
Minimum Age Requirement: 16
Equipment students will use: Heat Guns, Rotary Tools, Hot Glue Guns
Please note that you'll be more than a little dusty from sanding EVA foam and MTP thermoplastic with rotary tools, so aprons, eye protection, dust masks and nitrile gloves will be provided!

Doors will open 5 minutes before event start time. Seating is first come, first serve.
1. Do I need to have a pass to Emerald City Comic Con in addition to this workshop?
This ticket does not grant entry to Emerald City Comic Con. You must have a valid Emerald City Comic Con event pass for the day of this workshop. Please visit their website for more information.
2. Do I need to bring anything with me to the workshop?
Just bring your ticket and a willingness to learn new things! We provide all materials and equipment for Maker Academy Workshops!
3. Will tickets be sold at the show?
All workshop tickets are only sold online. No physical ticket sales will be offered on site.
4. Can I bring someone with me that does not have a ticket?
Due to limited seating space, we are unable to allow unticketed family members, friends or companions to this event. Ticket holders with ADA needs are allowed to bring one unticketed companion. Only ticket holders will be permitted to participate in the workshop activities.
5. I can't make it to the class. Can I have a refund?
Refunds are not possible. However, if your class includes a materials kit, you can pick up the kit after the workshop has ended at the Maker Academy Booth in Cosplay Central.
6. What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes before the workshop starts. Be sure to have your ticket with you to show at the door.
7. I might be late. Is that okay?
If you arrive late, please be courteous of the other attendees. Out of respect for the other attendees, it won't be possible to spend instruction time to get you up to speed due to the complexity of our workshops.
8. Can I audit the workshop?
Workshop access is only for valid ticket holders. Auditing is not permitted.
9. Can I record the workshop for my socials?
Pictures are okay. Please consider the privacy of those around you when taking pictures of the workshop. Video is not permitted without permission. Please contact us should you have questions.
10. Can I wear my cosplay to the workshop?
Absolutely! If your costume allows you to sit comfortably throughout the duration of the class, we'd love to see it in action. However, please keep in mind that some of our workshops involve hands-on activities like sanding and painting. While we took care to mention this in the waiver, we understand that you might have additional questions or concerns. Don't hesitate to reach out to us for any clarification. For your safety and comfort, we provide basic personal protective equipment (PPE), including nitrile gloves, cloth aprons, eye protection, and disposable dust masks. Of course, you're more than welcome to bring your own PPE if you prefer. Let's make sure your cosplay experience is safe, comfortable, and absolutely memorable!
